Seems to be pretty good
Since puberty I've always used safety razors for shaving but being old and lazy I decided to look at the best-reviewed electric razor and try it out so that's how I came to own this. Let me start by saying I can't grow a beard, it's patchy and thin and even going months without shaving is never longer than a quarter inch or so. I clean-shave about once every three days. Just for keeping up on a clean shave this razor is alright. It's not a smooth, hair-free shave like a safety razor but rather rough. For most men I'd say it leaves the feeling of just before you get a five o'clock shadow and that's the BEST it can do. For softer parts of the face there are hairs it just can't get. For the neck you're just going to have to attack those with a safety razor or be happy with a lot of random hairs as this can't get them all. I feel like if I grow facial hair fast I'd be a lot less happy with this but the fact that it puts me how I look one day after a shave (which is slightly patchy) means that I can live with it easily. A couple of things that suck about it: The proprietary charging cable means you can't just use a USB-C charger. The detachable trimmer head is difficult to keep track of. It fits in the case but not nicely. In fact the case itself has a lot to be desired in that there's no place for the extra head and the brush and the zipper should end at the bottom so you could charge the shaver in the case. As it is it's crappy. And of course lastly the shave it gives you is fair to middlin'. If you're a fast beard grower I'd imagine you'd have to use it multiple times a day to look presentable but my understanding is that's just how electric razors are.

Braun v Remington
I've always wanted to try a Braun Foil Shaver and now that I have it is my second choice with Remington Foil shaver still my first choice. My Braun shaves like it is oscillating slower than my Remington and so I just have to be patient and go slow. I get a great shave now that I have adopted my shaving to my Braun.

Good shaver, a questionable trimmer
Overview: it is a great shaver for shaving, but it is marred by some questionable design decisions. Background: It is replacing my 9 years-old Braun Contour 5. I have been using the grooming products from the big three (Braun, Philips, Panasonic) for years. Shaving: It shaves like a dream; it most certainly shaves better than my old Contour even when it had new blades, and I think it shaves better than shavers from Panasonic/Philips I have used in the past. My facial hairs are not very coarse or dense; but they are very curvy, and can grow into every other directions -- lots of shavers struggle with this, but this one seems to handle it with ease. For the "core" purpose of shaving facial hairs, this is easily 5 stars. Builds&Appearance: Its build feels nice enough. I have mixed feeling about its appearance -- I think its overuse of silver/chrome parts cheapen its appearance. I am not too fond of the combination of the big shaving head and the narrow "neck" -- it makes me think of the Chimera product of Philips neck and Panasonic head, if that makes sense. Battery Life: I am not commenting here, since this doesn't really matter for how I used this product. Usability: It is a shaver, it shouldn't be too complicated to use -- and it is not. However, I don't think it is as intuitive as it should be. Additionally, it comes with one of these trendy "text-free" manuals, which fails at the basic purpose of manuals -- I am sure I have read some post-modern philosophical treaties which were easier to comprehend than this "manual". Given that this is a NA product which covers only three languages, I have no idea why they went text-free. Except that it is not really "text-free", as it has plenty of warning texts. SAD. :/ Trimmer: Here comes the worst aspect of this product. Unlike many traditional shavers that has a built-in extendable trimmer, this shaver comes with the "precision trimmer" attachment instead. You are supposed to detach the main "shaver" attachment and attach the "trimmer" attachment whenever you want to use the trimmer. The shaver can also take optional clipper attachments, though these are not in the box. Unfortunately, this approach has major drawbacks. First, it is inconvenient, since you basically have to shuffle the multiple attachment every day instead of simply pushing the extendable trimmer when needed. Second, and more importantly, this shaver makes a rather poor trimmer. The shaving head, by design, is big and wobbly. Unfortunately, you don't want to have "precision trimmer" sitting on top of something big and wobbly -- a trimmer sitting on a big and wobbly base cannot be precise. This trimmer feels terrible to use, especially when trimming the sideburn using my off hand; granted, a minor disability I have on my off-hand wouldn't be helping here; still, a trimmer should not be this difficult to use. I have a separate Panasonic trimmer, so this is not a big issue for me (although I would rather not carry a separate trimmer for a short trip...). However, if you depend on a built-in trimmer on your shaver, I urge you to think twice before getting this shaver. If you are thinking of replacing your trimmer/clipper with this shaver, just don't. There is no need for a shaver to try to be a multi-purpose clipper; it is unfortunate that Braun decided to force a square peg into a round hole by trying to make this otherwise great shaver into some kind of multipurpose clipper.

Great Shave: Better than the Series 5
The most important thing about this razor is that it gives a great shave. I've had it for 5 months and it's much better than my old series 5 which gave a very good shave. The 7 does the job quicker and closer and I would buy it again. Having said that I don't like the trimmer on the 7 and am still using g the trimmer on my 5. It's more trouble than I'm willing to go to since it has to be located and then snapped on.

Close, but not that close.
I ditched last year's Norelco for this and find it to be superior. Still, nothing. Beats a blade for closeness, but this is fine for ordinary use.

At full charge it is a powerful electric razor.
I would have preferred a smaller electric razor, assuming the rechargeable battery pack required more space. At full charge the razor does a good job shaving. As the razor power starts to decrease, a closer shave will be difficult to create. The trimmer does a good job on sideburns and beard edges. Cleaning the razor would be better and easier if I had a spray can of compressed air. The supplied cleaning brush just cant reach into the crevices of the razor and fitting.

Works Better Than All the Others
My father loves his new razor. He especially loves how the blades are angled the same way he would hold a straight razor.

I can recommend this if you like the Braun Series 7
Overall: I highly recommend this if you like the Braun Series 7 and considering renewing that or replacing its blades. It can shave closer than old model, easier to cover places like a jaw, gentler, quieter, and lighter. No downsides from my perspective. I used Braun 750 for 8+ years and bought this as a replacement for it. I use shavers every day. Giving close shave: **Disclaimer**: I’m comparing it with 3-year-old blades on Braun Series 7. It noticeably shaves closer than the old shaver. The difference is not like "wow!", but as a replacement, it just does the better job, so you would not be disappointed. Coverage: the new flexible head definitely helps shave places like a jaw. For sensitive skin: It is gentler. I initially thought it was not shaving as close as the old model did because of this. As I noted above, it does but with gentle touch. Noise: it’s a lot quieter. My SO even told me she thought I was shaving in the other room than the regular washroom. Form factors: No significant difference. Its size has not virtually changed. It got lighter, which is nice for a travel, but it’s a lightweight item anyway. Battery life: It worked more than two weeks without charging it. This is long enough for me. Did not compare/review: the trimmer, the cleaning station, and running cost associated with it. I don’t use them. Given that replacing the blades of the old Series 7 costs 40$+, and this model adds up only about 100$, this new model will not be a bad deal if you already like Series 7.

Replaced a Series 5 with this Series 7 - a Major improvement
I've had a Series 5 model for years and figured it was time for a complete replacement. So I opted for the Series 7. It is significantly better than the previous model, no regrets for the change. I do however miss the simple flip-up trimmer the Series 5 had, with the 7 you have to snap off the razor head and snap on the trimmer head. So far I haven't even tried the trimmer as I have a separate Remington beard trimmer, it's easier just to pick that up.

Return issues and no plastic Head Guard!
I'm in Toronto, over 70 and used more than 7 shavers' during my lifetime; mostly Phillips but also two Remingtons. The Braun gives as good a shave though takes longe;, which few people have in the mornings. Negatives: I wanted to return the shaver to Braun but they expect me to pay for shipping and insurance ~$40-50. The shaver drops shavings over ones shirt, all over the sink; it does not capture shavings in the head like the Phillips. So if you walk around your abode while shaving you'll be dropping shavings all over. It also comes with a Travel Pouch, but NO Plastic Guard! When I called Braun, they said, "shavers with pouches are not supplied with Plastic Guards". To me, Travel Pouches are used when travelling, which I have often done. A guard is essential for daily use when using and storing the shaver in ones washroom cabinet without having to unzip or zip up a pouch for every use. Cannot store the Trimmer in the pouch without likely damaging the Head. It only gives 6-8 shaves per charge, the Phillips gave 20-22. So I'm stuck with a shaver and spare Head which cost me over $210. They used to have a branch in Mississauga, Canada, but no longer. My advice is to not purchase a Braun Shaver if you're in Canada.

If you want a shaver that misses half your face this one is for you!
One of the worst shavers I've ever used. Wet or dry the foil shaver only cuts half the hair and it's totally at random and doesn't change no matter how hard you push or direction you shave. It's also still gives you razor burn no matter what you do, might as well use a dollar store razor cause this is no more comfortable. If you want a shaver that gives you multiple different lengths of facial hair at once then you should buy this immediately. Otherwise don't waste your money!

Better then Phillips
While I wouldn't consider myself a lumberjack but after a day of not shaving my wife has been known to describe kissing me to be similar to rubbing her face against 60 grit sandpaper. And I have been forbidden to grow a beard, especially after the 2018 Movember incident where she described me looking like a 1970s p*rnstar. I guess what I am trying to get at is that I am a hairy guy and having been shaving since I was 16. I have been using rotary shavers (Most days I am way to lazy to to use razor blades) for the past 20 years or so but lately have been struggling to find something that actually works. Not sure if my facial hair got courser or if razors were getting worse but I struggled to find an electric razor that works. I either find hair that gets missed, hair that is pulled out (those little hairs under the nose are constantly getting pulled out vs cut) and razor burn. I decided to try the Braun Foil razor and glad I did. While its not perfect it is much better then the Phillips and other rotary razor I have had over the past 10 years. The 7020 still struggles getting some hairs that lay flat but after a few passes it will usually get them and the hair under my nose hasn't been pulled out now for 2 months. My wife still complains about my sand paper face at the end of the day but she's happy with a kiss first thing in the morning.
