Solid and heavy duty accessory

This lost a star due to being shipped in a badly beaten box that was barely holding together on arrival. Heavy contents. Luckily, all pieces intact and each piece wrapped in protective plastic sleeves. This isn't a hollow stand by any means. It's solid, heavy, sturdy metal through and through. The bottom metal base plate is super rigid, of heavy gauge and inflexible. Assemble on a rug to avoid damaging a hard surfaces should a piece accidentally drop. The weight of the frame's components may make them slide or shift out of alignment prior to final assembly. Allen bolts without nuts, don't fully tighten them until all parts are fastened together. Deceivingly bigger than it looks, holds a good amount of wood. Tools are solid as well and have a strong well-forged feel. A functional, all-in-one, rugged fireplace accessory.

Easy to assemble and sturdy

Easy to assemble and very sturdy. Functionally it was what I was looking for however I was not able to tighten the kindling holder at the top enough to keep the pieces from moving. Not sure if that’s the design although I can’t imagine why. Cosmetically, the set wasn’t great. I have several pieces with large scratches. I have it turned in a way that most aren’t super visible but I will eventually have to refinish the whole thing to fix it.

Extremely well built and sturdy with nice tools

Ponied up the dough for this pricier hearth organizer and I'm not disappointed in the quality. Both the unit itself and the included tools are nice powder coated steel, with no rough edges or sharp points, and STURDY. The unit is a perfect fit next to my fireplace, with relatively sleek lines that fit into most any decor. The hooks for the tools seemed small at first but nothing has unintentionally fallen off the hook so they do in fact function well without being obtrusive. The unit was easy to assemble and I love the two levels of storage - logs below and kindling above so you don't have to dig through a heavy pile of logs just to get to the smaller pieces. The only feature I wish it had was another hook or little box for lighter/matches.

Sturdy but not worth price or effort.

Much larger than expected, shipped in item box that was crushed and ripped open in several areas. hardware was loose inside box. Surprised I was not missing anything! Paint chipped off of several areas from poor packaging. The tapped holes for fasteners need to be chased out in order to thread screws into. Understand paint locks the fastener, but makes it very difficult to thread them in, use loctite patch or liquid thread loc. Otherwise VERY difficult to assemble without stripping heads of hex fasteners. Also should have rubber or cork pad on bottom of feet to prevent harming surface it sits on. Once past these issues, the thing is heavy and seems sturdy, but for what it is, if given choice again, I don't know if I would buy. I think it is overpriced for what it is and should not take as much work and strength it did to assemble.

Works great

Easy to assemble and made solid. The included tools have worked well for me. Kindling on top, logs on the bottom, and tools all organize in just over a foot squared footprint. I purchased this from Amazon in early 2014, and have no complaints. Very good product. Highly recommended for your fireplace needs.

Solid Product

Very solid construction. The bolts fit tightly and you can really crank them on. The only problem I had was that I didn't follow the instructions and tried to really tightened the hooks for the tools. I stripped one of the hooks but Pilgrim replaced the part for free.

Good product

I am still embarrassed that we spent what we did on this. However, it is quite sturdy and looks nice. The holes were a bit misaligned for putting together. So it took a little extra effort to get the screws in. Despite that, it was still relatively easy to put together.
