Sizing is wrong

This is so adorable, we needed it to complete my daughter’s fall outfit unfortunately have to return as it says is a large but it’s more like a small size my daughter is 9 yo and very petite for her age compared to other girls her age and the shirts fit very snug on her especially around her arms, I’m going to return and try want to try the XL but I’m afraid it may shrink in the wash, just to clarify I made my daughter try the shirt right out of the pocket and did NOT was returning right away so I’m not sure if it will she material may shrink. I things over all it is adorable but the large should be advertised as a small rather than a large, I can only imagine what the s or xs size may be, they are probably for toddlers but not oldest children.
