Wonderful hat for women with large heads.

I ordered the l/xl hat size for our vacation and it fit great! I have a fairly large hat so I knew a standard (One size fits all) hat wasn't going to work. I'm happy I found a hat with larger sizes. This hat is very nicely made, sturdy and thick. The rim of my hat does not lay flat like the picture though. The rim of the hat is wide so it's a great hat to block out the sun. I used this hat in the pool and it held up perfectly fine. With that said since I was using this hat in the pool I was wearing a bathing suit and after while of playing with my kids in the pool I realized the sides of the hat began rubbing on my shoulder and it started to hurt but that could have just been because I was wearing it in the pool so just be cautious of your placement. I took off 1 star because the hat do not come protected at all. It came folded and rolled in a box to it got creases in it (prehaps that why it never laid flat) its such a nice hat I wish they did a better job packing it.

Attractive Sun hat

The hat is attractive. The one drawback is that the chin strap that I wanted in case it was windy cannot be retracted if you don’t want to use it. All you can do is stuff it in the crown and hope it isn’t visible.

Durable

I was looking for a durable but breathable hat to wear while I brush-hogged or worked outside. This is great for it. I ordered a large and it was a bit too big but I like it anyway.

All over the world and still looks great!

A few months ago I was boarding a plane and saw a woman with this exact had attached to her carryon bag. I loved it and ordered it before I had to put my phone in airplane mode. I have taken is with me to several continents and it has gotten stepped on and smooshed but still managed to look as good as the day it arrived in the mail. It’s lightweight, super cute, and protects from the sun. If I lost it I would 100% but the same one again.

Perfect for traveling

I got the large size which works for my size head - this hat, in the large size, is roomy but I like it because it sits lower on my head. Material is very good quality and it retains its shape when folded

I love this hat. I had navy blue first and wanted another color. So this time I ordered tan. I wear them every day I go out on walks and for travel. The strap to hold it on to your chin is very helpful. You never know when I he wind will kick up.

Good quality

I generally apparently have a fat head. This hat fit pretty well but was still a bit too fitted for me. It left a mark across my forehead that lasted quite a few hours. If your head isn’t too large you should be fine. It’s a great quality hat. It folded for travel as advertised and still had a good shape when removed from my suitcase. I’d recommend it

Cheap material, not woven - held together using something like fishing line, tore immediately

Immediately after unboxing, I watched the brim split off while it was put on extremely gently. The stuff came apart in exactly the same way as the other reviewers describe and in the photos. The other side of the hat seems more resistant to tearing like this, after the fact. The side with the tag inside is what ripped. Maybe it's a common defect. I'm going to sew it back together using something suitable and more durable, but for Columbia to release something with low quality control makes me wish I went for one of the cheaper dropshipping branded trash hats to see how that would've gone. Otherwise it looked nice for the five seconds it was intact. Here's me wearing it afterward because it looks funny.

Fits beautifully (able to get an L-XL for my 23.25" melon).

Not quite fold-flat, but close enough. Fits beautifully (hard to find size - most are OS that are too small). Able to shape the brim nicely, and even my husband likes it (he's hated almost all hats I've owned - usually because they are men's hats in order to get them to fit lol).

Good sized rim protects face & neck

I love having this hat for summer! Some reviews said theirs ripped after first use but I have worn mine at least 10 times through some seriously windy days and it is holding strong. My only issue is I got a large because I thought I needed it and it does end up sitting just above my eyebrows sometimes. It is very comfortable though and not too heavy. I love that it protects my upper chest area with shade. I love my big hat :)

Misleading Advertising - UPF 30, NOT 50

Please be aware that according to the tag on this product, it is rated UPF 30, not 50, as claimed by Columbia on this page as well as on the Sportchek and Atmosphere websites. Other than the false advertising, the hat is good. A little floppy and a little bent out of shape due to shipping, but otherwise stylish and practical.

not horrible but disappointed

The sizing was good but the way it was transported was terrible. It was balled up in a little bag or so misshaped now, ouf. Hopefully I am able to get it to look decent again. Sigh. One last thing, the adjuster is cheaply made and does not really stay up ????‍♀️
