Very light, affordable, well made, feature rich, but photos not accurate of actual color received
I was intrigued with the reputation this watch has gained and for such a low price it definitely seemed worth checking out and having in a watch collection. And it is, but not for me unfortunately. It is very feature rich and functional and light in weight. A good travel, swimming (100 meters water resistant), workout, gardening, camping, hiking, carefree watch with a 10 year battery. However, for me it has a few negatives that I found disappointing, even at this price. For some they may be minor. 1. The color was not accurate on my watch. In all photos it appears to be a real black color with a silver grey LCD screen. Mine was actually a dark greenish brown, case and band, much like many G Shock watches appear. I was expecting a full deep black like the FW-91 I've seen many times. And the LCD wasn't a sliver grey but more of a dark yellow tone. This didn't help contrast and readability. I didn't know if Casio has changed their resin recipe or if I received a discolored watch but it certainly appeared to be brand new and unopened, sold and shipped by Amazon. But it was definitely not a true black color. 2. This is a thick watch. It sits high off the wrist so it could be more likely to be caught and scratched. Which becomes an issue because the crystal is actually acrylic not a mineral crystal glass. If this was just a 3 to 5 mm less high off the wrist it would be perfect. 3. The band is comfortable and fine but the dimensions are unusual. 18mm lug width but it flares out to match the case only to taper back down to a thin 18mm around the buckle. This probably makes it feel more comfortable because there's less plastic (and it is a soft plastic not rubber, although feels close). But it looks too thin to me especially when the watch case is more "full sized" at 40mm wide across the middle and 12mm thick. 4. It is not exactly easy to read. The time digits seem a little too small, the day and date are thin characters, the circular dial has very thin hands, and the world map timezone display is barely legible because there's not enough contrast between the background map and the current zone displayed (although that's not very important and the map does look cool anyway). It's not an issue of the screen being too cluttered, it's more about character size and there seems to be enough room for them to be more legible. The AE-1300 for instance appears much more readable when it comes to the time and day date displays although with different functionality overall. Really, it comes down to the color for me. I'd still want to keep it for casual use, swimming, times when I wouldn't want to worry about a watch getting damaged, wanted a very accurate time or stopwatch or timer, and travelling when I want to have a very lightweight wristwatch with different timezones. But the world now is full of pure black plastic devices everywhere and this watch was just not black at all and that was very disappointing. And the LCD appearing not silver grey but yellowish also hurt it. Even though it appears that way in pretty much every photo and video I saw about it. It didn't appear that way in person. If it was actually a true black colored resin and had a high contrast light silver grey LCD screen background, I would have liked it very much. Hope this helps.

Casio Royale World Timer
The Casio AE-1200 is a straightforward yet fashionable digital watch with a number of practical functions at a very reasonable price. The world time function of this watch, which makes it simple to keep track of the time in several time zones, is one of its most notable features. You can rapidly navigate between places and see the time in all 31 time zones, so you always know when something happens. The Casio AE-1200 contains a stopwatch, countdown timer, and five daily alarms in addition to the global time feature. It is a fantastic option because of these qualities for people who need a dependable watch for everyday use as well as for people who need to keep track of time when working out or engaging in other activities. The watch is lightweight and comfortable to wear thanks to its robust resin case and strap. The easy-to-read, crisp digital display gives you all the information you require instantly. In general, the Casio AE-1200 is a dependable watch with a lot of helpful functions, not to mention a 10 year battery life. It is a fantastic option for anyone looking for an affordable digital watch that is robust and stylish.

Simply a great Casio offering
Hard to find a watch at any price that can do all the things this watch does- four time zones can be pre-set, five alarms, countdown timer, stopwatch, calendar to 2099, and a small analog time segment that always reads your home time. Plus it looks cool, is a healthy size 42mm wide, has a decent if somewhat flimsy stainless steel band, which is excusable as the watch is quite inexpensive. There's a reason die-hard watch folks rave about this model, and some even upgrade theirs with a stainless steel case costing well more than the basic watch. I find this watch comfortable to wear, although the Casio A168 is smaller and feels like you're not wearing a watch. The only real cons I see are it has a plastic case and crystal- they scratch over time, and it might be too large for some women and teens. The map is also hard to read for my 70 year-old eyes. Otherwise, this model is a big winner- highly recommended.

Stylish “spy” watch.
The media could not be loaded. The watch is high quality and I loved the features on it. The orange lights help the display very much in dim, and fully dark conditions. The bracelet is high quailty, although I hate how you have to adjust it and I think other Casio watch bands are superior. (You need a really small flathead and a really tiny circular pin to adjust it if you don’t have watch tools. I had the thin flathead but I had to use a nail instead of the watch tool. I would dock a star off, but since it is so high quality it didn’t. The countdown timer was very helpful and I’ve only seen it in a few Casio watches. Another tip is if you like the style and looks but never travel out of time zone (like me) you can set all your quick access timezones to the time zone your in. I loved the 5 alarms, i set one for walking up, reminders, and a few more things and was very helpful that I didn’t have to change it every time. Feels comfortable on wrist, will sometimes pull hair but can be prevented. Has other basic Casio features (stopwatch, hourly beep) there is an option to mute the beep sound and setting time was easy. You can choose if you want to stay on for 1 or 3 seconds after light button is released. Tells date in month date format (huge plus for me!) has 24hr option. Very beautiful watch with helpful features other Casios don’t have.

Lots of features
I have been wearing Casio watches since 1985 and have always enjoyed them. I had seen this model for a couple of years but, when the price dropped to less than 16 dollars I bought it immediately. The watch has great features including 100m of water resistance, 5 daily alarms and all kinds of world time features. I don’t know how Casio can put so, many features on a watch costing less than 16 dollars but, it is a bargain at this price. The watch does have quite a few features but, the instructions are easy to follow and this watch is definitely worth buying.

Nice Watch, but look closely at the ad and pictures!
This is a really nice looking watch, and the module is great - all the functions you'll need and more. However - be careful when you are buying it as it is often listed as having a stainless steel case, whereas many of the stainless steel coloured models have a silver-coloured resin (plastic) case. The first one I bought was advertised as stainless but was resin, so I returned it. I then found one listed as having a stainless steel case from another vendor and, despite contacting them first to check that it was definitely a stainless steel case, and being assured it was, when it arrived it was resin. The vendor was really good and assured me it was a genuine error, and refunded me part of the cost, so I kept it. I enjoy wearing it, but I do wish it was full stainless! Basically, if you are paying £20-£40 it is likely to be plastic, and for about £80-£100 it is likely to be steel!

Casio Royale FTW
I didn't like the look of this watch. I didn't need half the functions of this watch and I didn't need another Casio digital watch... ...until I did. It's awkward looking and made of plastic and reminds me of a Tiger electronic game from my childhood that only worked 4% of the time - every time. But, after taking a chance on a recommendation, this is my new go-to personal timepiece. As a dad with young kids or a fan of EDC gear or just a person with a quirky interest in horology, this is a fun, scarily practical piece of time kit that is light on the wrist and retro-futuristic funky to boot. It has everything you might ask for on a basic watch with a 10-year battery and a sweet 1980's style amber light that fills your head with submarine, spaceship or spy fantasies of dramatic synchronizations and ticking time-bomb countdowns and come on, come on, almost there, STAY ON TARGET-. But, maybe this sounds a bit much. Maybe you think this has been a bunch of hyperbolic nonsense. Maybe, this is simply a watch you just don't want... ...until you do.

Brilliant starter watch.
This is a great starter watch for those who would want to upgrade to a gshock later on, or perhaps for someone that wants a cheap beater watch. The pushers are easy to press, the screen is clear enough to read. The LED light is bright and does the job well. The only complaint is the plastic 'glass' over the screen, that can scratch easy. But thats fine for such a cheap watch.

Wow! Brilliant.
Always on the lookout for a low priced, well made, yet clever digital watch that goes that bit further. And I’ve found the Casio AE1200WH-1AV to be such a model and one that in no way could ever be considered basic. As far as functions are concerned and despite it’s amazing price tag (£17) this is one serious watch. And it’s many features and functions are both practical and useful. It has large easy to read main time digits with the Day, Date, Month, Hour, minute and seconds on a high contrast display. It’s a chronograph too with a Stop watch (1/100sec) and Countdown Timer. Unusually and usefully it also has an Analogue clock (with digital H,M and secs hands) giving your local time as a permanent view whatever mode you are in. And this model incorporates a pretty comprehensive World Time feature, with an “at a glance” World Time zone map, 31 time zones and 48 cities, UTC and Daylight Savings settings. But in addition it also has a quick jump feature to show 4 other time zones in rotation and a selectable auto scan feature too. Another useful trick is the quick swap feature from Home time to any World Time you have selected, usually the preserve of some serious upmarket models. If you need an alarm then your well catered for here with 5 preset and repeatable Daily Alarms and a One-Time Alarm. There is also an hourly signal which beeps twice on the hour if you so select. A selectable duration LED light with afterglow of either 1.5 seconds or 3 seconds for easy viewing at night. You also don’t need to bother with the annoying task of correcting the days at the end of those silly months that don’t have 31 days – the Auto Calendar takes care of all that, right up to the year 2099. And who needs Solar, Eco-Drive, Automatic or Kinetic with it’s outstanding 10 year battery life with it’s CR2025 battery. The light resin case and steel back plate with internal seal ensures a 100m Water Resistance, which is just great for that holiday swimming. It comes with a really quite good and unobtrusive synthetic resin flexible strap and black coated buckle. I’ve found the strap to be quite comfortable, the divers “waves” shape not really large enough to cause me discomfort. The strap is also set to 18mm spring lug bars, so an alternative strap could be used if preferred, BUT note there is little room allowed between bar and case and a NATO strap may be difficult if not impossible to fit, though a standard fitting silicon deployment style might. (I’ll update on the silicon strap at a future date). The “glass/crystal” is a very clear resin and the dial contrast is exceptional, so this is a very easy watch to read, which is a big plus point in my opinion. Japanese Quartz movement with +/-30secs per month accuracy. For night use it has a two setting back light which is one of the best I’ve used yet, at either 1.5 secs or 3 secs when pressing the top right pusher. The bottom right pusher selects 4 quick view World Times in rotation, which is handy as one of them is Paris, so for us Europeans from UK very useful. The day and date display window gives the City, the month then the date (not the right order for us in UK, but I’m OK with it). Size wise it’s neat at just 39.5mm (42mm with buttons) x 13mm Squarish case profile and a clear surprisingly tough resin crystal/glass. The lug to lug is 45mm which is neater than most and it fits my 170mm wrist just fine. I mean WOW! I have heard it said the buttons are too easy to use and inadvertent operation is possible and annoying. Well I can honestly say on this model to date, this has NOT happened to me yet! and the pushers “push” with a reasonably firm consistency. That said, I don’t wear watches at the very, very end of my wrist beyond the wrist bone, like some folks, so my hand even stretched back, simply can’t operate the buttons. So for me there are no downsides at all with this Casio World Timer model. It does everything its supposed to do, clear to read day or night and manages each function very well and at an absolutely rock bottom price.
