Easier Than Going to a Parts Store
I prefer shopping on Amazon or other online markets than relying upon someone to have the right item in stock. I like the concept of shopping local, but local retailers do not often meet all my needs. Case in point, this coil. My own research using the numbers stamped on the side of the coil allowed me to compare my original part to the specific replacement. My cousin installed the coil, and my tiller started right away and stayed running. The local small engine repair shop wanted to replace the carburetor immediately without looking at my tiller. Be prudent when shopping local and save yourself some time, money and aggravation by doing your own research.

Restored my power mower to like new performance
My four year old Toro mower (purchased from Home Depot) stopped dead and would not restart. Twenty minutes after UPS dropped off the order, the mower was back in service. The B&S container had adequate instructions and the box material is used to set the armature to magnet gap - clever! When the mower failed, there was no spark and the resistance of the high voltage circuit was well outside Briggs and Stratton's specs - there are lots of web sited providing diagnosis and repair guidance for small gas powered engines. I checked B&S's parts lists and found multiple part numbers, a somewhat daunting and potentially frustrating task - they have manufactured many low horsepower engines over their long history. Then I searched web and this replacement advertised by Amazon was the forth citation delivered by Google. Importantly, Amazon's well-rendered image of the replacement part gave me high confidence the replacement would work. Why did the original armature fail? Probably internal corrosion - we are located on a large saltwater waterway in South Florida.

Like a champ just what the Doctor ordered!
Contrary to You tube videos that stipulate if over 5k resistance, coil is bad, the new one was around 6k out the box. Old bad one was 4.7k. New one worked like a charm. Note, it will not work if installed backwards! Look at imprint on case. Used in Craftsman 7 hp rear tine roto tiller.

OEM part but still made in China
Twice as expensive as knockoff parts, would have got the knockoff if I knew I'd be getting offshore part anyway. Easy to install, fixed non-start of mower.

Magneto to the Rescue!
For several weeks my lawnmower would work erratically - it would start when cold, but not when hot. After checking the carburetor and spark plug, I decided that the fault was the magneto (there was nothing left it could be). So I bought this which is an equivalent replacement for the BS coil 802574. I fitted to the lawnmower and it worked first time. More importantly it continued to work even when the engine was hot. So job done and very happy.

Does exactly what it should
My Hayter lawn mower, with a Briggs and Stratton engine was dying after about 20 minutes of use. It would start again but only once it had been given a chance to cool down - about the time to make and drink a cup of tea. I replaced the magneto with this version and it now works as it should. One fixed lawn mower but no more excuses to stop and have a cup of tea!
