This is the high quality, beautiful and functional trimmer I was looking for!
I bought the Wahl Lithium Ion Stainless just shy of a year ago and have been using it and loving it ever since! However, it took many other electric shavers before I arrived at this one. I've had a beard since I was 17 and since I got scared off of blade shaving after slicing myself up a treat when I was young, I went to electric shaving for over 30 years. I tried a bunch of them, Norelco, Remingtons, and finally Brauns (yes, plurals as indicated). As I went from one to the next, the quality of the shaver did improve as I went. But, although each had a trimmer function, it was really treated like an add-on, something that was put on as more of an afterthought than as a distinct feature. And, that showed in how well, or more to the point how *poorly*, they worked. So when I finally returned to blade shaving, I knew I would need to buy a trimmer (especially since my Braun finally vibrated itself to pieces), and I REALLY wanted to find a good, solid trimmer that would do a neat, quality, and preferably quiet job for me. As I usually do, I researched for quite a while, trying to find The Best Trimmer. I knew that Wahl made a number of different trimmers and that my wife (who was a professional hair stylist for 19 years) has always used Wahl trimmers in her business. I did look at other brands of trimmers, too, but I kept returning to Wahl. How can you go wrong by looking deeper into a company that has a long history of quality products that are (better yet!) made in the USA? Answer: You can't. Wahl makes a plethora of trimmers - cool. One thing that was very important to me was excellent battery life. Because of this, the words "Lithium Ion" popped out at me during one of my searches, leading me to this trimmer. It was stylish, excellent battery type, and had tons of accessories & combs. Looked *extremely* promising, so I ordered it. The results? I love this groomer/trimmer! It really does feel good & solid in your hand, not flimsy nor poorly-made; it has a very balanced heft to it, too, so your hand is not going to tire out from holding it, either. And, oh, is it QUIET! Unlike every other electric razor/trimmer combo that I've owned, this puppy is incredibly quiet, yet still powerful enough to go right thru the hair. Battery life? Stellar. I've charged it 4 times in the last 10.5 months (one being the initial charge). It typically lasts me about 3 months on a charge, since I tend to "train" batteries by running them thru 3 full charge/discharge cycles when they're new (and this is the last of those 3 cycles, new charge + 3 more). An old habit I got into that may not be relevant for current battery types, yet still seems to serve me well in conditioning the batteries for long life. And yes, this Wahl gives me an extended span of usage per charge, especially when compared to all the older models I used to have. I trim for ~15 minutes each week, plus the occasional touch-up, and I get about 3 months per charge. Attachments? Plenty of them - more than you'll need. Now, some folks whose review I read before buying have dinged this groomer for having too many attachments. Not valid, really; if you don't need 'em, don't use 'em. The fact is, Wahl gives you plenty of OPTIONS for you to choose from! Find the ones which are most useful to you and stash the rest - simple! I haven't changed the head from the blade to another blade, or the nose hair trimmer (yet), but I will - I just haven't gotten the urge to do so. As for the combs, I tried a bunch of them and finally settled on two that I use every week; first the longer one, then the shorter one. Works perfectly and gives me a neat, well-groomed look in an easier, FASTER fashion than I've ever been able to accomplish before. I've even had multiple comments on how nicely trimmed my beard is, but only after I started using the Wahl 9818. :-) The other complaint is about the plastic stand. Pshaw, people, what do you want, a really good trimmer, or an overpriced stand on which to place said trimmer? I'll take the first, thank you. Yes, it's a plain, clear plastic stand that is 100% functional and just the right size. They designed it to hold your trimmer in the same position, allowing it to be plugged in or not, as needed. If it's plugged in, you can easily see the charge light as it stands there, so you know that it's done when the light goes out. Works perfectly, unobtrusive, and because it's not unnecessarily fancy, they didn't have to up the price to cover anything you didn't need. BOTTOM LINE: This trimmer is worth every penny! I am completely and totally happy that I bought it, I love its style, form, & functionality, and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat if I needed another one.

Honors 5 year warranty no questions
I purchased a few of these, although the model number changes the trimmer is the same. Purchase in Aug 18, it worked perfectly, without maintenance, oiling of replacing the blades. The battery died 4 years and 7 months into perfect operation. One simple email to customer service stating the order date and the issue, a few days later a response confirming that I will be mailed a new trimmer at no cost. This is how you treat people. With honor and dignity. THANK YOU FINE PEOPLE OF WAHL.

Great functionality and battery life
I’ve been using the Wahl Stainless Steel Lithium-Ion trimmer for about 10 years solely for beard trimming. While I can’t comment on its other uses it was more than adequate for my purposes. It has a great battery life and the blade stayed sharp with regular maintenance throughout its life. The only drawback, and a minor one is that the on/off button which is made of plastic is awkward to engage and after about 10 years it finally broke off and rendered the razor useless. I recently replaced it with the same model that claimed to be more improved with a sharper blade and a better charging cable connection-- and I'm hopeful the on/off button issue has been addressed. All in all, I think the Wahl is an excellent product having just the right size and weight and is very well-made to boot.

This is an honest & heartfelt review. You can buy this shaver with confidence.
The Good: - This is the most ergonomic shaver I've ever used. It feels comfortable to hold and it's very lightweight. But that doesn't mean it lacks power, no sir, it cuts through my 4 day old beard of thick hair cleanly and effectively. I make sure to wet my face and hair with hot water first and pat dry. - Improvements... I am a proud owner of the previous model which is basically the same but for two modifications. 1) The port where the charging cord goes into is more robust now. And 2) The power ON/OFF button is more responsive than the older version. - The T-shaped blade is all I need to shave my face clean in 20 minutes. And that's with periodic breaks to brush the blades clean after shaving each quadrant; left side of face / right side of face / left side of neck / right side of neck. - My older model is working fine after 3 years, so I'm confident that this new one will be just as hardy. Come to think of it, I'll give the older one away to my brother who thinks other brands are better. - Speaking of which... the blades on Wahl shavers are made better and are sharper. I've been using Wahl shavers for 2 decades. During that time, I've also used 4 other big-name brands in shavers. Those shavers have flat-pressed blades because they cost less. There is a big difference is cutting ability. Look at videos online to see the difference between a stamp-pressed knife blade vs one that is created from a solid block of steel. Totally different levels of quality. - And you can order non-rusting stainless steel blades, dual-foil shaver head, a "detailer" head for more precise cuts and others using the leaflet which is included. - The mini carrying bag is made of a thicker material than I usually get with shavers. And it's not cheap vinyl. - Built-in travel lock. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds and the chances lessen that the shaver will turn on accidentally while traveling. Press for 5 seconds to unlock. - It fully charges in about an hour. blinking light = charging, steady light on = fully charged. Do not use while plugged in. If you see the light blinking while shaving, that means you have less than 15% battery power remaining. - If anything should go wrong, I can attest to this company's excellent 5-year warranty. The Bad: - Hold the blades facing down when lubricating. Do NOT allow any oil to flow back into the motor housing cause that will cause permanent damage. and The Ugly: - Some reviewers state that they would've liked better instruction on how to switch-out the blades. The included instruction sheet with its 2 little diagrams doesn't really help. Basically, hold the shaver in your hand with your thumb on the cutting part of the blade. With your other hand, cup the underside of the blade so that it doesn't fall to the ground. Then gently push the blade off with your thumb. In order to put it back on, insert the bottom of the blade first and then push it back on in reserve order.

Great Price
Works great. The product as a whole is super sturdy. One complaint is the guards feel super cheap and the locking mechanism makes me nervous.

I nearly vomited in my hands when I opened the battered-up box and removed this product, as it was covered in the previous owners hair clippings. Absolutely vile. I cannot tell you how disgusting this is. Terrible terrible terrible

Disappointingly useless seller ...
Wasn not expecting the charger to come with a US plug only!! Should have been clearly in the product description... also communication with the seller is NON Existing after couple of attempts to contact Wahl is a good brand and I am happy with the purchase but wound not buy from this person in the future again!!! Bear that in mind when planning to purchase.

Does not have an Australian plug
I ordered this for my husband and wrongly assumed that as it was listed on the Australian Amazon site and there was no mention of the plug, that it would be an Australian electrical plus. I was unimpressed to find that we had to then purchase a converter plus and use it with these clippers forever. The trouble and expense to send it back was not worth it and so we have bought the converter. For such an expensive set of clippers I felt they were not described properly.

NO es una rasurada suave
La maquina es muy bonita y la sensación en mano es algo que me agrada a porque se siente el peso del metal, pero no sé qué pasa con el filo de las navajas pero las primeras rasuradas fueron un poco dolorosas pues jala los pelos de la barba en lugar de cortarlos. El tamaño y el estuche muy prácticos.

A Super Duper Grooming Tool
One of the best choices that I have made in grooming kits. This is a wonderful product to trim your beard and the various attachments just do what they are called for - a neat a trim groomed look. It is very unfortunate that Wahl India does not offer this product even though this is available in their global stores. Hence I am unable claim warranty on this product if damaged. This is the reason for 4-stars. For the product and its functionality, I would easily give 5-stars
