Inexpensive, flat, loud and floats

Two dollar plastic whistle that is flat, loud and floats. What more do you need? Perfect for an emergency kit, dog training, boating, backpacking, etc. Loudness depends on how hard you blow. It has an odd dissonate tone created by multiple notes, so will draw attention. Poor reviews must have received a dud. Probably not the best sea whistle made, but for $2 it works as it should.

Ok for under 2.00

Worth the 1.66 I paid but it's still not as loud as the storm whistle brand. That storm whistle hurts my ears when I blow it if you're going to pay six or seven or eight dollars for whistle look at those.

Nice sound that is not annoying

Just what I wanted. Sounds like a flute. I use it to train my dog to come to the door when he is outside in the yard. So far it works.

Good whistle, small

Good whistle, small, loud. I got it for my jetski and stashed it away under the seat. Techically you need a signal device in all jet skis so if you ever get checked out this could help you avoid a ticket!

If your kids love whistles, but you hate noise...

Got 3 for the upcomming backpacking season with my 2 kids(5 and 12). Have 5 different(none are the pea type, all can be used when wet) whistles from other several other companies on life jackets, hydration packs, and daypacks. Disliked: my kids blow as hard as they can and its very quiet. I blow as hard as I can and its still very quiet. Liked: high visabilty orange. They were $1.64 each as an add on item, but they will go straight into my "bin of mistakes". When/if you need one, I hope you are in a completely silent emergency(no running water, waves, or wind) and help is very close by.

Nice Slimline Whistle

Had not used this specific brand and type of whistle before. Usually I am a Fox 40 guy all the way, but I am building some kits as gifts and needed a more compact yet powerful one for them. These work really well. Have not extensively field tested them yet (water, dirt, etc...let alone banging them around) but they get the job done. Lanyard is actually better than many I have seen. I would buy them again.

It really is. It is a good size and loud enough for survival purposes. Or to annoy the neighborhood into tearing you to pieces.
