This comes in an outer product box. It’s made in the PRC. It’s certified cruelty free and vegan (PETA and Leaping bunny). I got this in “Neutral Brown.” I have dark brown hair but always struggle getting the right shade in brow products. My brow hairs are more of a muted black/charcoal color. Most “brown” shades of brow products lean way too warm. I usually will end up going for black but a lot of times those are too dark. I’ve found some brown grey grey, and charcoal shades that worked well. But it’s hard finding a perfect match. I was excited when I saw they had a “Neutral Brown.” When I first swatched on my arm, it seemed like it was going to be absolutely perfect. It looked neutral, not warm leaning at all. But, for some reason when I put it on my brows it suddenly looked warm. Not extremely warm, so I could make it work, but still warm. I’m not sure why, I guess next to my brow hairs I don’t know. But, I could still make it work so that’s what mattered! I always like micro brow pencils. I’m able to be more precise and get hairlike lines using them. This one has an interesting shape. It seemed small like a micro pencil, but not rounded. It’s kind of angled. I can use the angled sides to get really thin hairlike lines. I love that! It has a nice formula - not too waxy, not too creamy. Creamy enough it glides on my skin easily, but waxy enough that it stays put once I get it on my skin. I hate when they’re too waxy to glide on the skin easily but too creamy where they just kind of melt away. This one’s the perfect middle ground! The pigment is nice too. It’s not overly pigmented, but pigmented enough where it shows up without having to press hard at all. Unfortunately, the interesting shape it had that had the angle to give me thin hairlike strokes ended up wearing down and rounding out after a few using, leaving it thicker than I’d prefer. But, still small. It takes some extra effort to get hairlike strokes, and even then I can’t get it now. It’s a shame because I love the formula and loved how it applied when I could use the angle to get sharp, thin, hairlike strokes. But, since it’s rounded out and I can’t do that, I don’t like it as much. I can’t get those hairlike strokes, just a filled in look. The powder is fine. It works well. It isn’t too pigmented. It blends into the skin nicely without looking dry or powdery, just gives a slightly more textured look. I like it. Overall, I really liked this at first. But, now that I can’t get the sharp, thin, hairlike strokes I could initially, it’s just not my favorite. If it maintained that shape or I could get it to get that sharp angle again, I’d love it. Maybe I’ll cut the side off of it to get an angle? If they make this pencil in a small, micro brow tip, I’d pick it up instantly! But, this, I wouldn’t get again. If you just want filled in brows and the texture of a powder, this will definitely do that and the pencil is a great formula that’s easy to apply and lasts well throughout the day. But, if you like small pencils that give thin, hairlike strokes, you’ll only get that with a few uses with this and then it’ll round out and you won’t be able to anymore so I wouldn’t recommend it. I give it 3 stars.
