Incomplete set (got 2 right sided backs instead of a right and left)
My 6 yo daughter is making the sloth for a school project. Unfortunately it came with two left sided back pieces and no right sided back pieces. Supposed to have one of each. It’s to late to request a new one or additional piece since project is due this week. What we have will have to do. Other than getting the wrong piece, the rest of it is as described. My 6 yo can easily do the regular stitch but needs my help to do the blanket stitch. The pre cut pieces and pre stamped wholes make it easy for her to do the project with minimal assistance (except for blanket stitch). We are almost done as seen in photo. I’ll update post if there are any issues finishing the product.

Great for older kids, like tweens and teens.
This is a really cute set that actually exceeded my expectations. This brand has been a little bit hit or miss for us, with some kits really missing the mark - but this one is a definite hit. I have a special needs kiddo who is almost 10, and he loves doing crafts. I try to find things to do with him that improve his fine motor skills, and also something he can proudly display when he completes it. We had a lot of fun working on this, and the final product was a success! It actually turned out well and looked like the picture, which is pretty rare for stuff like this. Everything you need is truly included in this kit, and all items are pre-cut perfectly. We didn't have any issues with getting everything to work and fit together, and the quality of the materials were excellent. One item that I would like to note, is that this says it's for ages 8 and up...but I really think this works best for kids a little older than that, if you're not planning to be very involved in it. It's a time-consuming project with a lot to follow along with, and while there are clear instructions, it may be a little more involved and complicated for some 8 year olds, depending on their maturity level and experience with things like this. You could safely get this for most 10-11 year olds (and older) and they would probably need more minimal guidance on it, for instance...but younger kiddos may need a lot of help with this, because it's kind of a lot for that age group. All kids are different, though, so YMMV. Overall, this was a fun project that my son absolutely loved working on, and it's definitely something he loves proudly displaying in his room as his masterpiece, so we're happy. He loves elephants, so this was right up his alley, and although it almost looked like this would be best for girls...it's not overly "girly" and he really enjoyed completing it. Super fun kit, and two thumbs up from this household!

nice kit
This is a nice kit for kids to stitch. You get all the pieces needed with the stitching holes punctured, so it is all ready to go, and stitching will look even and nice. They included a steel needle, which is a great change from the usual horrible plastic needles they include in kids carting kits. The needle is blunt which is appropriate for the type of project - holes are made so they do not need a sharp needle. The kit requires paying attention to what is being done, and aligning the pieces right in the right order. Instructions are full color and step by step, easy to understand

Not for kids younger than 12
This project takes a lot of fine motor skills, patience, and ability to improvise. I started working with my 7 year old on this and it did not take long to figure out that she was not going to be able to do this. It took me hours to complete and I am very proficient in the arts. The kit does not provide enough stuffing or sowing floss. It does not include weights at all but the instructions (in the fine print) tell you to get your own or use rice or beans. Luckily I had all the needed extras. You will need a whole second floss scane. You can see in the picture where I ran out of the floss the kit provided. You will need a lot of stuffing. I would recommend to not close off the trunk so you can stuff from both ends. The final product is nice though.

Sew & Stick
This is pretty much a stitch and stick project. The end result, a stuffed giraffe is adorable. There are more pieces than I anticipated and it is not quite as simpleas I expected. Still a fun project best for kids that are a bit older.
