Zipper pull came off after a year
Update: This was not a defect. I took a closer look and can see where the zipper was damaged by some kind of "operator error" imparted by my 10 yr old. Honestly, Columbia makes some really great products which is why I'm kind of disappointed about this. Not even a year old. I can send it in under warranty, but have to buy another jacket in the meantime since it's already like 30F here.

Thin but very warm for UTV riding!
My son loves this coat he got for Christmas and he says it is very warm but not as puffy as past coats. He is able to move around easily. He road most the day on his UTV in the snow without complaint. A+ Rating!!

New to Columbia.....will now always buy!!
I live in Colorado and have 3 kids that have to take the bus go school. Every year I hear complaints about how cold they always are. With last year's snowmageddon storm, I decided that this year I would splurge a little to find them the best and warmest jackets. We needed waterproof and incredibly warm jackets for when their waiting for the bus. I spent hours researching and this jacket came up on my list. I received the jackets and wanted to wait until the first snow to write a review. Upon first glance, I was impressed with the quality of the jacket but skeptical over the lightweight nature of the item. How could a winter coat on the lighter end keep my kids warm? The style of the jacket is quite fashionable and will undoubtedly go with all occasions. Today we had our first winter storm and my kids needed to wait for the bus in 17 degree weather. I no longer have concerns if this lighter jacket will keep my kids warm. My son raved about how he never became cold. He was able to stand at the bus stop warmly. The pockets are warm enough to keep hands warm. The hood keeps in heat to make the jacket comprehensive in it's warming effects. I love the reflective omni-heat feature and the omni tech aspect. Though this jacket is more than what I typically spend, when my son outgrow this jacket, I will undoubtedly buy another with these same technologies! It was money well spent to keep my kids warm and safe. I now hold Columbia to the highest regard! In the picture my son is 13yo and typically wears a 13-14. He is wearing a size large

Excellent product
My son needed a new winter coat. One that he could move in easily for all winter sports and playing outside in the snow but also it needed to warm and truly waterproof. We live in Alaska and we are alwAys outside. This fits the bill. High zip collar and large deep hood helps protect his face, inside waste belt helps keep cold out and no matter the slushy snow or ount of time in it he stays dry!. Never complains about being cold or uncomfortable. We do later under it, it's consistently below zero and I bundle them up but when he comes from school all those layers are in his backpack and with just a t-shirt on under it he seems fine. Like the grow with me aspect of it though we have not reached that point yet. I believe it runs a little large since my son is on the big side for A 6 year old and he has a good amount of room in the small and he consistently wears size 7 clothing. But being big is fine with me, just more winter's I get out of it, more bang for the buck, just don't size up. Great coat totally worth it and holds up 100% to the next tier brands who we have previously used

Great quality that doesn't break your bank
My twins loved it. We bought two in different colors. Great quality, but not too expensive. Kids grow so fast and wear things for only a season or two if I buy a size up, you can't beat the price for brand name jackets.

Not true to size
Although the sleeves pull out which is why I ordered this coat to get more then one year use out of it. This is not the fact. The torso is very short. I would say a 2t is a size comparable to 24 months. Not leaving it a little big at all to fit next year. The arms can extend to extend the use but the gorse like I mentioned is very short. This will not last another year. I would say size up at least 2 sizes bigger to get 2 years worth. My son was 1yrs old. Average boy weight and didn't3 make it 2 years of wearing. Coat is like brand new due to not much wearing time.

Great Jacket
My son loves his new jacket. Not bulky pretty lightweight but warm enough for cold Chicago winter. He’s 4ft 4” / 55 lbs size small fits him perfect. with room to grow.

Highly recommended
My kiddo is approximately 46”, weights under 52 lbs, a skinny guy. Illegally bought a medium, fits him a bit big, but not enough to bother me, he will more than likely be able to use it next yr, plus it’s got the expandable arm sutures for when they drove, so win win!!! It is a great jacket, perfect for cold days, then again in CA we’ve only used it on 36-32° weather. I cannot speak for its durability or longevity, seeing as how we’ve had and used it for a handful of times only. Planning snow trips, so I shall update then. But I would def recommendation nonetheless.

This winter jacket has held up well through the winter. Washes up nicely and still looks new. This jacket has kept my son warm. No issues! Fits true to size.
